For those that are interested, tonight is a meetup in Vancouver to discuss OneWebDay. Details below.

Day: Thursday, June 15

Time: 6pm to 7:30 pm

Place: Room 400, Simon Fraser University, Downtown Campus (515 West
Hastings Street
Vancouver, B.C.)

Topic: One of the OneWebDay (http://onewebday.org) organizers, Susan
Crawford, is coming to town and would like to meet with anyone who is
interested in being part of a OneWebDay celebration in Vancouver on
Sept. 22.

What is OneWebDay? It’s an Earth Day for the web. The idea is to make
the collaborative, participatory web visible. Earth Day and the
environmental movement didn’t take off until we had a picture of the
Earth from space, and the plan is to do the same thing for the web
through a variety of projects by people all over the world — every
Sept. 22 from now on. FAQ is here:

Well, I wrote a really cool chapter abstract on digital identity and youth. Unfortunately, it was rejected.

We write to thank you for your submission in response to the MacArthur Foundation Series on Digital Media call for abstracts. Together with the team of editors, the advisory committee, and the steering committee, we reviewed over three hundred twenty proposals submitted for the series in an effort to craft the shape of the volumes and the series in the manner most conducive to forging a common discourse. Unfortunately, we were unable to find an appropriate fit for the essay you were proposing for the volume on Digital Media and Identity that is being edited by David Buckingham.

I’ll save the idea for a future journal or scholarship submission :)
