Congratulations and welcome! Some software I recommend (all free, google to get homepages):

WriteRoom – a free, minimalist text editor. Sometimes it helps to write fullscreen and avoid distractions from other windows.

For FTP I use Cyberduck…it’s cute

There are also a lot of Flickr uploader apps out there – full apps and widgets…I recommend googling and finding one that you like.

I’ll try to think of others but in the meantime, don’t forget to place with PhotoBooth and its special effects!
